The Westboro Baptist Church is releasing two ads which they are trying to air during The Rush Limbaugh Show. One is parodied from Jeff Foxworthy's "You Might Be A Redneck If..." schtick. The second is just more of their own nonsense.
The first one which they rip from Jeff Foxworthy;
“If you wear a dress that is strapless with a brassiere that isn’t, you might be a slut,” an announcer says. “If you are an anchor bimbo for Fox News and your name is Kelly or Julie, you might be a slut.”
“If you think it’s OK to have sex with men outside the marriage bed, you might be a slut,” the commercial continues. “And if you fornicate your brains out and you think the government ought to pay to kill your baby, well, sounds like a slut to me — and God hates sluts.”
A second advertisement proclaims “America is doomed!”
“Your pastors are whores! Your priests rape boys! You murder babies by the millions! You fornicate your brains out!” the announcer exclaims in a reverberating voice similar to many monster truck commercials.
“Divorce! Remarriage! Adultery! Idolatry! You’ve all lifted up with one voice and said, ‘It’s OK to be gay.’ You only have one hope: obey or perish!”
All I can ask is have you done yourself any favors by getting backing from Westboro Baptist Church? According to
Raw Story:
Westboro spokesman Steve Drain told Raw Story that while his organization has had their differences with Limbaugh, they were on the same page when it came to labeling Georgetown University law student Sandra Fluke a slut.
“Even a blind hog can get an acorn every once in a while,” Drain explained. “We’re not aligning ourselves with Rush Limbaugh because as we say on our website about him, he wouldn’t recognize Bible truths if it were a bottle of pills sitting on his desk.”
“He’s a guy who is on the air entertaining people with his take on political matters,” the Westboro spokesman added. “Now all of the sudden Toyota, Allstate and all those big companies — they know what his show is about, it’s about right-leaning ideological political opinion and religious opinion sometimes. Now they want to cry foul because he said, look, if you are bellyaching about the government paying for your birth control, that smacks of promiscuity.”
Are they doing Rush any favors with statements like this:
“If they turn these things down, how are they really any different than the people who are turning their nose up at Rush Limbaugh?” Drain asked. “We are making a moral statement with our advertising just like he was making a moral statement with his airtime.”
As much as I despise a group like this I find it funny that they want to help Rush with his message. Premier Networks claims they will turn them down but I say let's keep up the pressure on the advertisers until they can only get these types of sponsors.
You can read all about it here at The Raw Story but I can't promise seeing what these people have to say won't make your skin crawl. Mine did!
