I'm getting more than a little tired of reading about "insane, right-wing amendments" like the Blunt amendment that tie up Congress and get lots of press play and generally manage to keep pushing the dialogue right-ward. More than just scary symbolism happens when a right-wing member of Congress amends.
Two questions:
(1) So why aren't we seeing any "'insane' (from the perspective of the right, of course), left-wing amendments" that would drive the right-wingers into a frenzy?
and
(2) What would make for some good "insane" leftish amendments? It's like a contest.
Here's one . . . if the price of gas goes above $5.00, oil company subsidies end.
I know you are all smarter than me.
Let's write some amendments to attach to the random transportation or defense bill.
Fun stuff.
