i'm a woman, and i feel just as icky writing about viagra as i feel when non-medical-doctor men (and ron paul) opine about birth control. but....
i think that advocating for the restriction of access to viagra as backlash to restriction of access to birth control is 1) wrong, 2) unfair, and 3) a little bit mean.
1. the ability to have sex, and the freedom to have sex are two very different things. we should probably stop conflating them, seeing as how we don't like it very much when the right draw false equivalencies.
2. what if you do manage to restrict access to viagra....is it really going to make you feel better about the limits on your own rights? no. i promise you. you put restrictions on viagra, but at the end of the day, your own rights are still just as threatened as they were before. that's not progress.
3. erectile dysfunction is a cruel, emasculating condition. i won't participate in complicating that, or its treatment.
