Hey, gang.
Wanted to let you know that there remain several ways you can get a scholarship to Netroots Nation and join us in Providence this June. Most scholarships include registration and hotel, and some also include travel.
All the details are here, but here's the short story:
Option 1: Our scholarship program with Democracy for America and America's Voice is currently in its second round (there's three), so you can still apply yourself or nominate someone. Here's the round one winners. Last year 50 folks won scholarships, and that's the goal again this year. (More on that later.)
The rules are here, and the link to apply is here.
Option 2: Totally new: Today we also launched a new contest with Rally.org. Bottom line: Help raise funds for progressive causes, help yourself. It's a four-week competition to see who can land the most individual donors for each of these six progressive causes, as well as causes of your own choosing:
- Elizabeth Warren
- New Leaders Council
- Truman National Security
- Washington United for Marriage
- NARAL
- National Wildife Federation Action Fund
They'll determine 20 finalists based on the number of individual donors who donated through the finalist's Rally page—two for each listed cause, plus eight who raised for any other causes—and from that list 10 finalists will be selected based on the creativity and innovation of their fundraising efforts on the Rally platform (e.g. multimedia content, theme of campaign).
The 10 winners not only get registration and hotel covered, but also such things as:
VIP perks during Netroots Nation Conference: Recognition from conference organizers on stage, reserved seating at plenary, back-stage and/or "green-room" access, access to invitation-only parties.
Private cocktail reception hosted by Rally.org with veteran political consultants and political technologists.
(And you don't even know which leaders will be backstage yet. I have some inklings. More soon.)
The contest runs from April 4-May 2. You can sign up anytime, but the earlier the better. More info here.
We want to see as many of you in Providence as possible for the Netroots' annual family reunion/policy forum. If you'd like to register, click here.
