Itzl is still one tired puppy.
Xoco stayed home through most of the Fair so she didn't get overheated, stressed, or exhausted. She came out Friday, which was the coolest day of the Fair, and the day we worked the longest hours (from 6:30 am until 9:40 pm). I couldn't leave her at home alone that long.
Itzl went with me all 4 days, plus the trip to Texas (Xoco went to Texas, too, but the car is cooled so she slept most of the trip - the tornado was barely a blip on her little radar since she's already forgotten it), and then to work.
It's a busy life for a service dog, always having to accompany me wherever I go.
Lest you think I am an utterly harsh taskmaster, he does get time to stop and smell the flowers.
And the rocks.
Even when he's on break, though, he still works. When a car came sputtering in to the parking lot, he paused during his potty break to consider if he should alert or not. He watched the car as it jerked and spewed smoke all the way to a parking space. Only when it stopped did he resume his quest for the perfect patch of grass.
