At the Commentary magazine website, the latest right wing obsession is that Obama has imposed a bullet list of braggadocio on the biographies of every president since Coolidge (except, for some reason, Gerald Ford) on the whitehouse.gov site, in which he claims credit for continuing or improving their accomplishments.

My conservative friends have of course seized upon this in Facebook, and are appalled at this typically insidious behavior. Unprecedented! Obviously done because he has no accomplishments of his own! A desecration of American history and the records of honorable former presidents - even Democrats! And also typically, they always blame Obama personally for every action of his administration and staff. Here is my reply to them:
"I'm sure the web designers were surprised when Obama dropped off his notes to them before he went about his daily routine of preparing for the imposition of his socialist dictatorship. The context that the article somehow fails to mention is that the notations about how the Obama administration is continuing initiatives of other presidents are not inserted into the official biographies, but are placed in a "Did You Know" section at the end of each biography. And that this is the White House website, which has always featured the policies and accomplishments of the current administration, Republican or Democratic."
I don't know if archives if past administrations exist at whitehouse.gov, but it would be interesting to see if the Bush administration similarly touted its own policies and achievements, and tied them to American traditions and the histories of other presidents. But context and research are not strong suits for wingers, while hysteria and overreaction are their meat and drink.
