I'm trying to write an OP-ed and I would like to get feedback on it. I'd also like to get some ideals on how I would get it published.
The Secret Weapon of George Zimmerman
How many people would remain silent when faced with their impending demise? How many people would SCREAM for help at the top of their lungs less than a second before they blew a hole in another man’s heart? What George Zimmerman’s defense will ask a jury to believe is: Trayvon Martin never cried for help or begged for his life on those 911 tapes. No, it was Zimmerman who was afraid. Instead, Trayvon Martin remained silent and took his punishment like a man. He even used his last breath to salute his enemy when he uttered the phrase, “You got me.”
You got me. TV pundits are making a big deal about George Zimmerman not having any marks on his hands or having blood on the back of his head. One CNN pundit even remarked how the latest photos proved that Trayvon was getting the best of Zimmerman. The one thing this pundit failed to realize is Zimmerman always knew he had a secret weapon, the 9 millimeter hand gun he used to kill Trayvon Martin. He never had a reason to throw a punch. He had a secret weapon and he was determined to use it. Trayvon Martin had only one weapon. The weapon God gives every man, his fist. But in the end, God’s weapon is no defense when a man is determined to kill.
George Zimmerman just might get away with what he did. You see, in defense of George Zimmerman, the one thing Zimmerman knew from the start is dead men tell no tales and that may be his greatest weapon of all.
