I am quite certain that I am not the only one finding myself with WAY more to do this weekend than time to work with. Real life stuff...and the cool stuff I would rather be working on.
There is the standard raking through the apartment because everything seems to land in the floor and on all flat surfaces during the week. There is laundry... mounds and mounds of laundry!
But that is not what I want to write about today--let's talk having too many crafting or art projects going at one time to get any one of them finished. That is where I currently am.
There is my favorite-- a wall hanging combining crocheting and quilting:
It's unbleached muslin with an old sheet recycled as both the back and the batting. The crochet motifs were made with the remnants of a skein of yarn from making a sweater.
The quilting will take some time... I am a big believer in hand piecing and quilting, so I take a while to finish pieces this big. I have a tendency to work on things like this for a while, and then take a break to work on something small so I can have the satisfaction of finishing something.
This is one of those projects--ponytail elastics-- quick, quick, quick! I love to make them with cotton yarn for my daughters and to sell.
My newest project is a scarf made from this awesome bamboo yarn:
It is basically loose fishnet crochet and is meant to be more for looks than for warmth.
I think I will make one for me and one to sell.
I will say that putting this diary together has given me the push to finish the wall hanging piece... as soon as I finish the bamboo scarf!
What are you working on these days?
