Who do you trust? And why? Have you always trusted them? Did they have to earn your trust? Have they lost your trust? Why do/did you trust them?
Among the many definitions of the word trust as we are using it here, the consensus seems to be the following;
noun
1.
reliance on the integrity, strength, ability, surety, etc., of a person or thing; confidence.
2.
confident expectation of something; hope.
4.
a person on whom or thing on which one relies: God is my trust.
5.
the condition of one to whom something has been entrusted.
verb (used without object)
13.
to rely upon or place confidence in someone or something (usually followed by in or to ): to trust in another's honesty
14.
to have confidence; hope:
verb (used with object)
16.
to have trust or confidence in; rely or depend on.
17.
to believe.
In recent days the word 'trust' has been used about an incident here. I haven't followed that incident, too much drama. I have enough drama occurring around me, why would I want to be involved in more? IMHO there are way too many on this site who thrive drama. When you see most of the meta wars its almost always the same people. When you see personal battles erupt, it's almost always the same people. Why do we as a site trust these people any more? What have they done to continue to earn our trust?
I've also seen some of these same people wish ill of this site. Why? Because in their opinion Kos isn't running it the way THEY think it should be run. Or, Kos has done something else they didn't like. Or, Kos is a terrible administrator. Or, Kos is a dick (news flash here, Kos has admitted to this). Or, this site doesn't belong to Kos, we built it, he just "happened" to start it. Well, IMO, if you're so damned unhappy here why the hell are you still here? No one's holding a gun to your head to make you stay. LEAVE.
We should all hold back our trust. As has been stated here many times here recently in the words of St Ronny the Great;
Trust but verify.
Let's all be cautious of and in whom we place our trust. What is the agenda of those seeking it? If they're here on Daily Kos it should be for one thing, and that's the stated goals of the site.
On with the games!!
Mojo Friday Guidelines
1) If you comment you have to recommend all comments. (in order to receive mojo you have to give mojo. It's only good mojo manners.)
2) Everything you say may be taken as a joke (so if you ask a question, expect a silly answer)
3) You must recommend the diary (and pimp it unapologetically)
4) You don't have to comment to recommend.
5) You can't steal my idea (right, like that ain't goin' to happen)
6) Please, no pictures or YouTubes until after 300 comments. Now, after 300, use a little common courtesy and be responsible in the number.
7) Mojo mojo mojo mojo, mojo mojo mojo.
8) TexDem (that's me) is not bound by the guidelines. Heh
Mojo Friday Goals
A. At least 300 different commenters and 1000 comments by 1:30 PM EST and 1500 by 5:00 PM EST Friday Night that it's posted.
B. 100 recommends for each comment, at least.
C. Stay on Recommend List at least five hours (this requires some strategic planning by you guys, refer to guideline #3)
D. At least 200 diary recommends. 300 would be better, spread the word.
E. And always, fun fun fun.
F. Have at least 75% average participation rate as seen here in the Mojo Friday Postgame Show by Woodtick and bjedward.
G. (New) Have at least 30 kossacks over 90% participation (see here for some tips).
H. Overload the servers with recommends, not to mention dominate Top Comments Mojo list. (we do tend to mess with the site with all of our recommends at one time)(also, to dominate the Top Comments Top Mojo we need at least 50 comments with over 200 recommends, see guideline B)
I. That's enough for now. (Have a suggestion? Post it.)
