It's an interesting question asked at Wiki Answers:
What kind of jobs does Mitt Romney's son have?
Tagg Romney is a Managing Partner at Solamere Capital.
One wonders.
Mitt was President, CEO, and sole shareholder when he launched Bain Capital (Romney Capital).
Pulling himself up by his boot straps, Tagg labored with the $10 million seed money his dad's Blind Trust lawyer dropped into Tagg's start-up. I wonder if Father Mitt shared his Roladex with Tagg? Even if Mitt didn't know he was an investor, you would think he would be eager to help his First Born succeed in the same business Mitt enjoyed making his billions: Private Equity
Well, especially if Mitt didn't know he had helped provide seed money for Tagg, you would think he would be more eager to help, frustrated that he couldn't hand Tagg a few $Million here and there. Then again, the "family lawyer" does handle Mitt's $Hundreds of Millions in his blind trust. Mitt's honest has me convinced he is definitely clueless about what is in his trust (snark).
Tagg is walking in Mitt's footsteps:
Investment Strategy
Solamere Capital was formed by a collection of influential industry leaders (the “Founders”) to identify premier private equity opportunities by leveraging their unparalleled networks, business expertise, and access to compelling opportunities. Solamere Capital works directly with these Founders in a multi-family office capacity, providing superior service and a diversified mix of top-tier private equity investments.
Being Mitt's son has many perks. Here's one:
In Utah for Romney retreat, Rove spoke at Solamere Capital event
Rove's speech was delivered on June 22, the Friday of the retreat weekend, to about 200 wealthy guests, including quite a few money harvesters for the Romney campaign, according to GOP sources who attended but requested anonymity in order to speak freely.
Tagg Romney and Zwick founded Solamere in 2008, and it has enjoyed a flurry of financial successes in part because of investments by some longtime Romney backers like ex-eBay chieftain Meg Whitman, as well as Mitt and Ann Romney themselves, who put $10 million into the fledgling venture. Zwick referred questions about the event to a Solamere spokesperson.
If Mitt doesn't win, perhaps one of two Romney Princelings will run in the future.
Josh Romney is a Real Estate Developer and owner of Romney Ventures. The Romney Ventures website is under construction.
However, the Wiki Answers article mentions that Josh has some political ambitions, too.
Josh Romney is on Utah Governor Herbert's GOED team (GOED - Governor Office of Economic Development).
Forbes Magazine Names Utah #1 ‘Best State For Business And Careers’
Along with Spencer Eccles, GOED operates under the leadership of Derek Miller and Josh Romney, also appointed by Governor Herbert in September 2009 to serve as an economic ambassador to Utah.
Romney's sons are well-educated, clean cut men.
Enjoy reading about them. I think the Romney name will continue in politics for a long time. I doubt another Romney will be elected in Massachusetts. I hope Romney doesn't become President in November. And I will be surprised is Josh Romney doesn't run for some office in Utah.
Personally, I am weary of political dynasties and the reshuffling of people on The Hill.
Can someone explain Leon Panetta to me?
Tagg or Josh? Which son will catch the Political bug? Both?
