As Mitt Romney skids into Tampa for the GOP convention, perhaps with extra problems in tow ---- Bain, tax returns and corporate shells providing much of the grease; the time has come to make the Presidential debates more entertaining.
Television journalists have been the moderators in the past tossing questions at the candidates like a middle reliever past his prime or sometimes to spice things up we have a carefully selected audience (which is magically laced with really over-prepapred undecided voters) asking the candidates questions.
Lets have very partisan moderators, one very conservative (Hannity, O'Reilly, Savage, or my personal favorite Ann Coulter) and one very liberal (Olbermann, Maddow, Schultz or my personal favorite Michael Moore). The right wingers asks Obama questions and the left winger asks Romney questions. BTW, This could be pay-per-view to reduce the national debate ---- and easily knock $250 million off in one night.
Or we could have say Senator DeMint (R-SC) ask Obama questions and Al Franken (D-MN) ask Romney questions. (I can picture Senator Franken asking "Governor, 39 of my colleagues are going to stop every judicial nominee, every bill, and will act as a major impediment to your success as President; without using the words 'bi-partisanship' or 'reaching across the aisle', how will you address this challenge?"
Perhaps the House Majority leader and House Minority Leader could ask questions. Nancy Pelosi asks "Governor, its 2014 and I am Speaker again with 250 plus Democrats, the Senate is overwhelmingly Democratic and you want a debt limit increase ----- what and how much will you give up politically to get that increase passed?
