So, I'm not sure if you've heard about the scandal here in Boston regarding the Pax Centurion. The Pax is the Boston Police Patrolmen's Association's newsletter.
It has also recently been exposed as being full of racist, sexist and homophobic content.
What's especially frightening is that when confronted with this hateful garbage, the BPPA hasn't apologized, or even faux-pologized. You know, a fake apology like "I'm sorry if anyone happened to be offended."
What they've done is doubled down. Dug their heels in.
The truth is, the hateful writing is just the tip of the iceberg. There are serious questions surrounding how the vast majority of money that was supposed to go to scholarship fund for police officer's children ended up going to a company run by a felon.
On my radio show, we've talked about it. We've interviewed one of the many great activists working to Clean Up The BPPA. And we've made fun of their bigotry.
This is a sketch about the BPPA. Hope you enjoy it. The truth is, this is a huge story and it really deserves a lot more attention than it's getting.
A good deal of it are direct quotes taken directly from the Pax's editor, James Carnell.
Transcript for those without sound:
Greetings Boston police officers. Do you like to write good?
Are you tired of having to anonymously post your dislike of minorities, Muslims, homosexuals, women, and the Occupy movement on the internet instead of using your real name?
Well, then the Pax Centurion is the place for you!
At the Pax Centurion, the Boston Police Patrolmen's Association is proud to give you a forum to spew whatever racist, sexist, homophobic rhetoric that pours out of your brain and onto the page.
We will give you the opportunity to go after those scurrilous cyber terrorists and their consorts!
Those penultimate hypocrites and assorted losers without lives, who wave the fickle finger of racism!
In fact, there's no such thing as racism, sexism or homophobia anymore!
Those are just terms the radical left uses as a cudgel to cow anyone with a different opinion into submission.
We will not be cudgeled. We will not be cowed.
And neither should you! The days of quietly muttering the hate that fills your heart to yourself are over! Share your hate with the world, under the watchful shield of the Boston Police, Become a writer for the Pax Centurion today!
However, do not write about how over a million dollars, that we supposedly raised for a scholarship fund for Cops kids went to a company run by a felon. That would be most scurrilous.
