When David Brooks makes this comment in his NYT column, it tells me that the Republican natives are restless with Mitt:
"Mitt Romney has a similar plan, which he unveiled a little while ago and now keeps in a secret compartment in subsection C in the third basement of his 12-car garage."
The column discusses how to replace the Affordable Care Act. Here is the link:

Forgive my glee at this development as you read past the squiggle.

For Brooks to take this public swipe at the nominee's wealth and secrecy is a very interesting tell. The conservatives seldom express such criticism, although a quick read of RedState today indicates that the many of vocal conservatives are unhappy with Romney's campaign response to the SCOTUS ruling. I counted at least four different posts hoping for a brokered convention--they were quickly shot down with the logic that an unknown candidate at this late date could not get the money, ground game or organization to wage a campaign against the POTUS.
Will little enthusiasm, the campaign's missteps and the weak candidate matter?
