Not much to say here, except to say 3 days after Slick Willard's flop sweat selection of House Republican leader, Paul Ryan, makes John McCain's selection of Palin look like genius.
Today Politico and David Stockman, Saint Ronald Reagan's budget director, chime in on the pick.
See the highlights below the fold.
Three days after the most important decision Slick Willard can make as a candidate, Politico leads with GOP pros fret over Paul Ryan
In more than three dozen interviews with Republican strategists and campaign operatives — old hands and rising next-generation conservatives alike — the most common reactions to Ryan ranged from gnawing apprehension to hair-on-fire anger that Romney has practically ceded the election.
And David Stockman has an OpEd in the NYT -
Paul Ryan’s Fairy-Tale Budget Plan
In short, Mr. Ryan’s plan is devoid of credible math or hard policy choices. And it couldn’t pass even if Republicans were to take the presidency and both houses of Congress. Mr. Romney and Mr. Ryan have no plan to take on Wall Street, the Fed, the military-industrial complex, social insurance or the nation’s fiscal calamity and no plan to revive capitalist prosperity — just empty sermons.
Obviously Romney's opponents would attack House Republican leader Paul Ryan.
But with his convention coming up the story going in is going to be all about Slick Willard's stupid selection of this untested, unready and electorally disastrous ideologue --- and the story will continue to be pushed by ---- Republicans.
