Here is a link to the short description from the NY Times:

The parts that got my attention were:
The crowd was customarily silent, so as not to distract horse and rider. Plastic Champagne flutes and windbreakers abounded, to toast the competitors and confront a rainy day at the park.
...
The day also brought a note of American politics to the British dressage set. Ann Romney, whose husband, Mitt, is the presumptive presidential candidate for the Republican Party, was on hand as an owner of Rafalca, a 15-year-old mare.
...
With Rafalca relaxing elsewhere in the park shortly after the competition, Ebeling changed into a white hooded sweatshirt and was reunited with his family and Romney.
Romney raised her hands in triumph and wore a large smile. She and Ebeling embraced, and the party made its way out of the main arena at Greenwich Park into a private, covered viewing area nearby just before the rain hit, to celebrate.
Yeah, just ordinary folks, with champagne and private viewing areas, not to mention the $77K tax deductible horses.
JUST like all of the rest of us. SURE.
By the way, "triumph" at this point is 13th place, with more horses to get their shot tomorrow, and then the ranking will be decided to see which horses will advance to the Grand Prix Special on Tuesday .
