In what is being viewed as an attempt to re-brand their campaign as a more mature and lighter campaign alternative to what they have been so far, the Romney/Ryan campaign has retained the services of the laid off Tonight Show writers.
Romney/Ryan campaign officials have decided to drop the "Town Hall" format they have been using at rallies. Instead, Mitt Romney will be seated behind a desk with Paul Ryan, adjacent to him on a comfortable couch. The advisers feel this will allow for even more whimsical banter and redundant back and forth, that their candidates are already loved for.
It will also let the campaign introduce four minutes of commercial spots for every eight minutes of "Rally Time" thus ensuring each rally makes a profit.
One of the new writers said "we are confident we can make these guys funnier and lighter than they already are".
This new format will also be more in line with GOP standards and practices, that rallies are more for entertainment and fund raising than factual information.
