No, I'm not worried. Yes, I see that for every one Obama ad airing during Jeopardy, there are five Romney, Super Pac ads.Yes, I know we'll be outspent. And that's historic. But...so is our President.
Yes, I know it can get depressing, seeing the outright lies of the Romney campaign, the nasty comments of elected officials, the blaming of a do-nothing congress on the President, the voter suppression.
Sure, it can get nauseating.
But I ain't worried.
Not one fucking bit.
Why? Heh.
Follow me over the fold.
First of all, Romney is a dick, and everyone knows it. Nobody votes for a dick. I don't care if the economy is stalling. And I don't care if people tell pollsters they trust Romney more with the economy. In the end, people follow their gut.
If the election and reelection of George W Bush taught me anything, it was that most voters go with their gut, especially if they're confused. So muddying the waters worked for Bush. People liked him more. Period.
Need some more?
Well, shit
These guys can't give specifics!
Advisers say the campaign has no plans to pivot from its previous view that diving into details during a general-election race would be suicidal.
And in any case, they're far behind with women, and there's no saving them this time. My daughter in law, who votes Democratic, but pays
no attention to politics, was visiting. Quite abruptly, she turned to me and asked, "What is with these Republican douches? What about vaginas do they find so offensive?"
I must confess I spit beer all over myself laughing.
Now, she doesn't pay attention to anything. But she heard about Akin's comments from a coworker who was reading the paper.
See, we're paying attention. There's a lot of Americans living in...well...
But I don't think that's a sizable majority.
Way I figure it, Republicans have become a one trick pony. They've boxed themselves in with their own "OPPOSE OBAMA IN EVERY INSTANCE NO EXCEPTIONS ZEIG HEIL!" rhetoric. So, now that Obama has been a centrist, adopting stances they once held, they're out of ideas.
All they've got is the notion that they can blame every problem this nation faces, from the debt to their son's bad case of the clap, on Obama.
But, to the wider public, Obama's still a much more likeable figure than Romney.
And that, my friends, ain't about to change.
