I woke up this morning, scratching my head when I saw this on TPM:

My immediate reaction was "WTF?!?!?" How is Linda "The Connecticut Kook" Beating Chris Murphy by three points? The only other poll to show McMahon with a lead was Rasmussen, which I quickly disregard as a legitimate poll. So not being from Connecticut, I decided to do a Google search on the CT Senate race and I read something from the Hartford Courant. I am not sure how accurate this paper is but here's the link if you want to read the post:

I am wondering if it might be a mix of Murphy's latest attack ad against McMahon was too negative and McMahon doing a good job painting Murphy as an absentee congressman. But if you look at the Quinnipac poll, it states that McMahon has done a good job reshaping her image over these past two years and she leads with independents and males but trails Murphy when it comes to women, youth and voters making $50,000 - $100,000 a year. The margin of error is 2.6% and surveyed only 1,472 likely voters. Here's the link to the poll:

Now this poll is only polling likely voters and I figured McMahon has more name recognition and is self funding her campaign so it makes sense this race is close. I'd love to see PPP do a poll of this race. It's hard to believe that McMahon has this narrow lead and there are still plenty of undecideds that Murphy can win over. What the Courant also states is McMahon's refusing to debate Murphy and Murphy has actually taken the time to talk to constituents. But even in a blue state like CT, big money can make a difference in this race. Plus lets not forget this state re-elected Joe Lieberman in 2006 so it shouldn't be that shocking. This race is far from over but Chris Murphy is a great congressman and a great progressive and God knows we need more of them in the Senate. Plus with the GOP giving up on the MO Senate race, they could be looking to pour it's money into this race. Donate to Murphy's campaign and lets keep this seat blue:

7:48 AM PT: Thanks for all the response so far! Please Rec this dairy so we can get the community to pay more attention to this race.
10:23 AM PT: Received an email from the Murphy campaign. They saw the Quinnipac poll and they are using it to raise money. I donated money to Murphy's campaign after seeing the poll. I also donated money to Sherrod brown's campaign. They're using the Columbus Dispatch poll to keep the funding going, which is a good idea. Donate some money to help him fight back:

12:32 PM PT: Joan McCarter took notice of the Quinnipac poll as well and is asking for the community to help out in the grassroots efforts to get Murphy elected and she is raising money for him:
