Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. It is a sad day for the United States and the World today. After a tragic and terrible attacks in our embassies in Egypt and Libya, four brave Americans have given the ultimate for their country. My heart is heavy for this loss.
Today is not a day for politics. Today, my differences with President Obama end at our shores; therefore let me say: I stand with the President today. I support his statement and I know that he and Secretary Clinton will determine how to go forward. I abhor as well the desecration of Mohammed and would say that even with the right of free speech, we must do no harm when we have Americans in many trouble spots overseas.
I repeat, today is not a day to highlight our political differences. We stand united against violence and terrorism and I encourage all Americans to stand with the President. I extend my condolences to the families of those killed; it is a sad day in America.
Thank you.
Said Mitt Romney, never.
