Willard Romney has been striving himself to define himself as Mr. Competent. But if he's so competent, then why is even the NATIONAL EFFING REVIEW skewering him for an running an incompetently-managed campaign?
I know they've already jeered him humorous ads, as in the "Mitt vs. Mitt" video, but if I were a Democratic tactician, I'd make a video montage of some his manifold blunders, e.g., "These trees are just the right height!", the "Obama sympathizes with Libyan ambassador-killers" debacle, his comically rapid position-shifting, etc etc. etc., and release an ad framed specifically around his purported "competence." It could be interspersed with quotations from conservative outlets like National Review, Wall Street Journal, etc. They could even toss in some Elmer Fudd themes, an idea I got from The Mouth-Farting Gasbag himself. Also, with Boots Randolph's "Yakety Sax" playing in the background. "Yakety Sax" would be an absolute must.
Someone, somewhere on the interwebz, suggested that mockery is the most underused weapon in the Democrats' arsenal. I think there are at least a few kernels of truth in this: it's a great way to portray someone as flighty and un-Presidential. And considering that there's a veritable cornucopia of Romney-being-a-buffoon material out there--you could probably make a feature-length film if you wanted to--I see no reason not to ridicule him hard, harshly, and frequently.
Dear DNC: Please lampoon this stilted twit with the deadly-sharp Spear of Satirical Slapstick--and do it very often. I would enjoy it so very much.
