Members of Warehouse Workers for Justice
in Elwood, IL Walk Off the Job
On Sat Sept 15th in Elwood, IL, workers at a Walmart distribution center walked off the job. They are protesting illegal retaliation and inhumane working conditions. This walkout follows Thursday's filing of a federal lawsuit regarding violations by their employer of minimum wage and overtime laws.
Eric Skogland, striking warehouse worker:
We are on strike to protest violations of our rights. We are tired of retaliation and threats every time we speak up about unsafe working conditions and other abuses.
