Don't let the 47% or the Palestinians comments fool you. That's not the real news here. Romney revealed his governing strategy and it actually is to hope that everything just solves itself.
Re the economy:
They'll probably be looking at what the polls are saying. If it looks like I'm going to win, the markets will be happy. If it looks like the president's going to win, the markets should not be terribly happy. It depends of course which markets you're talking about, which types of commodities and so forth, but my own view is that if we win on November 6th, there will be a great deal of optimism about the future of this country. We'll see capital come back and we'll seeâwithout actually doing anythingâwe'll actually get a boost in the economy.
OK, fine, that's just a random example. Surely he doesn't feel the same way about foreign polic... what's that? He said
what?:
All right, we have a potentially volatile situation but we sort of live with it, and we kick the ball down the field and hope that ultimately, somehow, something will happen and resolve it.
When your Plan A is do nothing and hope that pixie dust fixes everything, it's a little terrifying. This is something running to be the leader of the country and he doesn't like to think about how to solve problems. When your solution can be described in one sentence by a T-Rex on
a web comic, you're not a serious politician.
