Paul Ryan's out with his second ad here in Southeast Wisconsin and every time I see it I can't help but imagine that AARP crowd booing along with me. Here's the transcript:
Questioner: "What can be done to create good jobs?" Paul Ryan: "First, we need to end the growing government-control over the economy and when we put higher tax rates on American job creators than our foreign competitors do, we push jobs overseas. We need to fix that and make our tax code fair, simple, and more competitive. We should balance the budget and eliminate ridiculous regulations that cost you money. With the right solutions, we can get this economy growing. I'm Paul Ryan and I approve this message."
I've a little analysis below the Sign of the Flying Spaghetti Monster...
Our high taxes send jobs overseas? Really? We've been lowering corporate taxes since the Kennedy Administration to the point where several major corporations pay zero! Those lower taxes didn't stop corporate raiders like Romney and Bain from chopping up companies and outsourcing American jobs. Quite the contrary, those extra revenues weren't enough for the greedy capitalists. They had to sweep every penny from every corner of those companies with no regard for the lives destroyed in the pursuit of the holy corporate profits.
Ryan's statement isn't just a mischaracterization of the jobs issue or a distortion of the facts... It's a baldfaced lie, a Randian fantasy wrapped in flim flam and slathered in a thick coating of complete BULLSHIT that would make the most dishonest used car salesman cringe in disgust.
But that's not the only BULLSHIT in the ad...
We should balance the budget and eliminate ridiculous regulations that cost you money.
Ryan would like YOU to pay for the deficit HE VOTED FOR (in the form of the Bush Tax Cuts for the rich, Two Wars, TARP, etc.) by sacrificing the Medicare and Social Security Insurance YOU'VE BEEN PAYING FOR since the day you started working. I wonder if he'd like to get rid of the pesky regulation that requires him to wear those ridiculous safety glasses while on that factory floor?
It's imperative that we support Democrat Rob Zerban in his effort to unseat this unholy monster.
