The Republicans and the right-wing Super PACs are all worried about losing their chance to retake the Senate this year and they should be. Especially in Virginia where Tim Kaine (D) has taken the lead in recent polls against George Allen (R(acist)). The GOP, Koch Brothers and Karl Rove know they are going to lose this seat and when your candidate sucks and your agenda is horrible, all you have left are dirty tricks. Here's an email I received from the Kaine campaign:
Did you receive this text message? We've heard that people across the Commonwealth have received it.
It looks like, after more than $11 million in false, negative advertising didn't work, outside groups are now pulling dirty tricks. This isn't just a sleazy campaign tactic. It's a crime. The FCC has ruled that sending unsolicited text messages like this one is against the law.
Not to mention the message is just not true! The message claims that Tim Kaine supports a "radical new tax on all Americans." Politifact VA ruled a similar charge by George Allen FALSE earlier today.
Anonymous attacks against Tim aren't new -- but invading voters' privacy like this goes way too far.
We have to show them that elections are won with true grassroots support. Our critical September deadline is just days away. Make a gift now to finish what we started.
Our campaign doesn't even have a text message program! We're focused on reaching out to Virginians to spread Tim's message one door knock, one phone call, and one conversation at a time.

Campaign Manager
The email doesn't say who the text messages are from but it's pretty easy to suspect Rove had a hand in this. Rove is the master of dirty tricks. Lets not forget what he did to John McCain during the 2000 South Carolina Republican primary. Dirty tricks, whether it's Swiftboating or even breaking into a congressional candidate's office, like what happened to former Virginia congressman, Tom Perriello in 2010:

This is just disgraceful and dishonest. Rove and Allen may not have direct connection to this trick (or they did a great job hiding any evidence of any wrong doing) but it's certainly a right-wing trick to prevent Tim Kaine from becoming the next U.S. Senator from Virginia. Lets help Kaine fight back against these dirty tricks:
