Well, that was yesterday and today is today.
The Woman has already sent off her application.
The mum and dad are still getting ready to do so, and they have a little time.
That is not important. Here is what is important.
The Woman has never voted before, but she is only 20 years old. But she told me that she knows that I love her tonight. She also loves me, but not as much as I would like. No matter, I have time.
Her dad is really wanting to get his and his wife's registration request sent into the County Clerk, and I told them that time is wasting. I think that they will mail it this morning.
But more important than that, they want me to go with them and show them how to fill out the ballot. I am honored that they all think of me as family.
I know, I might be knee deep in a swamp, but I love The Woman, and she sort of loves me a little back. A little is all right, for now.
In any event, the whole voting age family has offered to take me to Waco, our voting place in November, and show them how to fill the forms properly. I promised them that I would, and we will.
I like the ballot method here, a paper one that gets filled out for posterity, and gets fed through the electronic counter for fast reporting. I NEVER liked just to push a lever like the old machines required.
I am so, so excited that The Woman is so, so excited about being able to vote for the first time. I am also very happy that her family wants to do so, too, and that I am accepted so that I can show them HOW to vote, and NOT to whom to vote. I influence them in other ways.
Please wish The Woman and me lifelong happiness!
Warmest regards,
Doc
