Think Progress is reporting that John Sununu, Mitt Romney's campaign co-chair, said that President Obama was too "timid" in going after Osama bin Laden, and missed early opportunities early on. Everything Sununu says could apply to George W.Bush except the part about killing bin Laden:
At some point the president is going to have to explain why he was timid on the first two or three opportunities that we had. Thank goodness Hillary Clinton was there to convince him to do the right thing. [...] His trying to take credit for having been decisive belies the fact that he wasn't decisive until pressed by others.
So he gives credit to Hillary Clinton, not the President himself.
How pathetic Sununu and those like him look when compared side by side with people of substance.
Here is what Admiral William McRaven, who was in charge of the raid on the compound rhat killed bin Laden had to sy about the President and others involved:
I have a member my family who argued that Obama didn't play a large role in the raid other than giving the order, all the hard work was done by the military alone. I played this clip for him, and it had little effect. They are going to believe what they want about this President, even if the facts prove otherwise. These, unfortunately, are the people who make up John Sununu's audience.
