Since First Lady Michelle Obama is scheduled to speak at the Democratic National Convention this evening, Contemporary Fiction Views will take a week off so we can all listen to her talk instead.
The diary returns next week with a look at Richard Ford's Canada. Also coming up is Haruki Murakami's 1Q84 (in three segments for the three parts of the novel) and Fobbit, David Abrams' novel of the Iraq War that recalls both M*A*S*H and Catch-22 (I recommend it highly).
