Associated Press published a story about our letter to Attorney General Holder, requesting the reopening of the federal investigation of what was officially certified to have been the suicide by hanging of a highly successful black youth on his eighteenth birthday on April 22, 2006. The "hanging" took place in rural Logan County, Ohio, which has a history of KKK activity, where an otherwise all-white church youth group was having a weekend camp outing.
Like President Obama, James Michael McCoy, III, had a distinguished white ancestor and had demonstrated phenomenal academic prowess throughout his high school career. McCoy took a leadership role as a versatile musician in the white suburban Columbus church to serve as "God's Ambassador" there.
