First, I apologize for this post, which largely lacks substance. I'm writing because I've received several emails this morning from Daily Kos readers objecting to my denigration of Edward Snowden and my prickly tone.
Those readers meant to contact "Troubadour," who this morning expressed the view that Snowden has pissed away his moral authority for various reasons, and feels, if I understand correctly, that President Obama has the moral authority on the NSA issue.
I'm known around these parts as "The Troubadour," and I have views diametrically opposed to my namesake, seeing Snowden as a national hero (in line with Daniel Ellsberg) and President Obama as having failed to stem many of President Bush's geopolitical and national security failures.
I know it's easy to confuse us, and truth be told, I should really just change my ID to my name, David Harris-Gershon.
I simply can't bear breaking with my identity and diary history here. And so we remain, two dueling Troubadours.
To be fair, he was here first.
Author's Note:
I wrote this just before traveling, and have finallly gotten back online -- I'm quite astonished by the response. I'm curious to see what everyone's written.
