Ok, this is not a McDonalds commercial but it is a reminder of what I hope those of you who will be joining us will experience in our meetup.
I stopped by Ft. Cooper Wednesday. Just Vet and me. I asked to see the rec hall again. I stood and looked at the view and even though my ears are stopped up heard a bird chirpping outside. I saw ducks swimming on the lake. I did a panaoramic looksee
of the area and it absolutely was so beautiful I looked at the white sand at the water's edge. I saw palm trees swaying. I saw beautiful oaks and heard nothing but a few seagulls and my steps as I stepped into one of the gazebos. I saw the water and the sparkle from the sun. Two squirrels playing on a limb caught my eye as I walked to the open pit and playground where I spotted a Volleyball net and Horseshoe stakes.
I walked inside the rec hall and looked at the beutiful rock fireplace and spacious shelter with all modern kitchen appliances. I saw the sun stream in as the view of the lake is right there. I felt the warmth of the sun as it was chilly that morning and the park ranger showed me the thermostat. I suddenly envisioned friends sitting at a table laughing and feasting. I envisioned some walking along the lake. I saw people meeting for the first time after all these diaries. I saw the Florida Daily Kos meetup in my mind.
I want you all to come and bring your favorite food. We will be retreating to this place Feb 9th. Please put a string on your finger and either Kos mail me or Old Hippie chic and confirm your RSVP and food item. You know you deserve a break.
From this scene to a beautiful modern rec hall and paved and handicap accessible amenities.
