Gohmert is crazy, yes. But so is the very idea of allowing a default on our national debt. However, it doesn't seem crazy if your intent is do burn down the country so you can seize it. So in that context, what had once crossed the crazy border line, I can't not accept it as possibility any longer. When Louie Gohmert, TX-R(evolutionary), recently compared John McCain to Al-Queada, was he reflecting the sentiments of RedState, or refining their argument, spinning their feed back loop? Is Gohmert now telling us the next move of the Republicans in the House, after default is reached:
Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) isn't sure whether he'll support a debt limit deal, but he is sure of one thing: a debt default would be President Barack Obama's fault.
A reporter for The Young Turks asked Gohmert whether he'd support a bill that would raise the debt ceiling at the Values Voter Summit on Friday.
"The word 'deal' concerns me," he said. "If it's good for America."
When asked whether he would allow the government to default on its debt, Gohmert projected the responsibility for such circumstances onto Obama.
"No," he said, "that would be an impeachable offense by the president."
Gohmert has continuously attempted to diffuse blame for a potential breach of the debt ceiling -- and the government shutdown -- as an Oct. 17 debt limit deadline looms.
Is that what GOP is planning next, to continue the path of madness we're on? Hell bent for complete destruction of the American government in full recognition of the pyrrhic fate? How better to further the calcification of our country's government works than to impeach the President on conjured charges of killing the nation's economy? 30% of the people already believe it. An extended show trial broadcast live on Fox and reverberated throughout their echo chamber could sway enough to bring that number to a larger, more intransigent minority or even a majority; I've not had less faith in the American citizens understanding of how our government actually works than throughout the government shutdown / default debacle. A nation that does not understand that Congress alone is responsible for generating the nation's budget does not understand why Obama should not be impeached.
