Everybody is probably aware of and over this, but looks like a little-noticed benefit of the Teabaggers meltdown...
Sen. Jon Tester (D-Mont.) said Thursday that he removed the “Monsanto Protection Act” from the bill Congress passed Wednesday night to fund the government.
Tester has been working to repeal that provision, which directed the U.S. Agriculture Department to ignore a judicial ruling that blocked the planting of genetically modified crops.
“Stripping out the Monsanto Protection Act is a victory for American consumers and family farm agriculture,” Tester said. “I'm pleased that Congress stood up for accountability and transparency and against special interests.”
Seems like a nice bonus to me.
