ISSA: *answers phone* Hello? Oh hi Donald, how's everything?
TRUMP: Good. Darrell, I'm a big fan of your oversight work but can you do anything about the Obamacare website?
ISSA: I've been on top of it before you even called so no problem there.
TRUMP: That's great. Very proud of you. Also, we're going to have to fire Kathleen Sebelius. She's done a poor job at ensuring the Obamacare website would work effectively.
ISSA: Fire her?
TRUMP: Yes, she need to be replaced. She's no good.
ISSA: I'm on it.
In case you were wondering what Darrell Issa and Donald Trump have in common with the Obamacare Website problem, well, Trump happens to believe the Obamacare website could have been fixable by Google:
http://washingtonexaminer.com/...
Had businessman and Republican donor Donald Trump been at the helm of the beleaguered Obamacare website Healthcare.gov, he would have gone straight to Google to engineer the site, he said Wednesday.
"I would have advised them to go to Google or one of our other great technological companies and get their act straightened out," Trump told the Washington Examiner. "They should have done that before they did the roll out with a Canadian company with a bad track record."
The troubled health care site was created by CGI, a Canadian company.
When pressed on whether the federal government could have afforded Google's services, Trump was not discouraged.
"I think Google would have done it for nothing as a contribution to this country, as a public service," he said.
Of course, now Darrell Issa wants to go further than Trump. He suggests Health & Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius shouldn't be in her role anymore if "she" cannot get the Affordable Healthcare Act and the website done efficiently:
http://www.upi.com/...
WASHINGTON, Oct. 27 (UPI) -- Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., said Sunday Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius should leave if she can't fix problems plaguing HealthCare.gov.
Glitches in the healthcare.gov website mean many people have been unable to sign up for health insurance through the marketplace. Officials said the website should be in working order by the end of November and that most people should be able to sign up for health insurance by then.
"The President has been poorly served in the implementation of his own signature legislation. So, if somebody doesn't leave, and if there isn't a real restructuring -- not just a 60 day, somebody come in and try to fix it -- then he's missing the point of Management 101, which is these people are to serve him well, and they haven't," Issa said in an appearance on CBS' "Face the Nation." "If she cannot reorganize to get the kind of a team in consistently to meet his agenda, then she shouldn't be there."
Maybe the better question to ask Darrell Issa is: What does "Management 101" or whatever he's talking about (assuming he knows what business majors and MBA students like myself study as far as management) have to do with the problems of the Obamacare website?
One could make the argument that the traffic on the healthcare website the first week it was launched far exceeded what was predicted from the beginning. That's not a "Management 101" problem.
Any manager in any business will have its ups and downs in serving its customers or business clients but would Issa throw the "Management 101" jargon at a small business with website problems?
You can never understand this Issa man.
