Tea Party Senator Ted Cruz's Fire-breathing Father is continuing to display symptoms of his Chronic Foot In Mouth Disease. Today he decided to spout wise on all things the naturalized Cuban with the Canadian Born Senator Son knows about "Black People".
And we Black People should listen up, shouldn't we?

After attending a panel on minority outreach at the FreedomWorks grassroots summit, Cruz, a Cuban-American, born-again Christian, spoke at the conference. He noted that a previous speaker "mentioned something about Hispanics being uninformed or deceived."
"Well, the same thing is true of the black population,” Cruz said.
Cruz also suggested how blacks and Hispanics should vote. “if we could communicate the truth, not only to the Hispanics but to the black population, all blacks should be Republican," he said.
“Highly religious, strongly pro-family, strongly pro-life” values and high military enrollment rates align Hispanics’ principles with the Republican Party’s, said Cruz.
So we're supposed to believe that the party that had set itself out to
block our ability to vote, who have implemented and passed laws that mean that innocent black people are
354% more likely to be killed without repercussions in a gun incident, the party that has dedicated itself to destroying the effectiveness and legitimacy of the first African-American President, even to the direct detriment of the American people --- is really just doing it all for our own good?
I guess that must be because we can't be trusted to know what's good for us, huh?
This does sound more than a bit like Rand Paul and his hilariously unsuccessful attempt to "reach out" to the students at Howard University.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/...
Paul acknowledged that he did stumble a couple of times at Howard -- in asking the audience whether they knew that the NAACP was founded by Republicans and in botching the name of Edward Brooke, the first black senator elected since Reconstruction.
It turned out that the audience knew the NAACP's history, something Paul said he didn't know would be the case. "This is my first time to go to a historically black college," Paul said. "In retrospect, it sounds like it is a dumb question but it's like, Republicans haven't been going to Howard for 20 years." Most Americans, he noted, probably would not know that fact. "I learned something, that everybody there knows," he said. "I was told that in no uncertain terms."
Because trying to
lecture Black People on their own History is a always such a good plan for a White Guy.
Or when Mark Williams of Tea Party Express decided he was going to embarrass the Republican Founded NAACP by saying that they were Slavery Supporters.
We Colored People have taken a vote and decided that we don't cotton to that whole emancipation thing. Freedom means having to work for real, think for ourselves, and take consequences along with the rewards. That is just far too much to ask of us Colored People and we demand that it stop!
....
Perhaps the most racist point of all in the tea parties is their demand that government "stop raising our taxes." That is outrageous! How will we Colored People ever get a wide screen TV in every room if non-coloreds get to keep what they earn? Totally racist! The tea party expects coloreds to be productive members of society?
Mr. Lincoln, you were the greatest racist ever. We had a great gig. Three squares, room and board, all our decisions made by the massa in the house. Please repeal the 13th and 14th Amendments and let us get back to where we belong.
White Guys in Cyber Black-Face, not generally a good idea.
But this wasn't Mr. Cruz first Bull Ride in this particular Rodeo. Back in February he said this.
“Let’s talk about the black population. All the civil rights that the African Americans have obtained have come from Republicans,” Cruz said. “But you know what, Democrats took the credit.”
All the Civil Rights we've obtained came from Republicans? Is that why their chosen Presidential Candidate in 1964, Barry Goldwater, virulently opposed the Civil Rights Act when both President Kennedy and Johnson supported it?
Tea Party Republicans would like to pretend this didn't happen. They would like to pretend that Nixon's Southern Strategy didn't happen. That there was no Willy Horton. That President Harry Truman didn't desegregate the Armed Forces. That Democrats are the "Real Racists" because - like - SNAP, and WIC and Head Start are all bad for you if you dare to be working and poor and still can't afford to eat. They would like to pretend that the Southern White Conservative Democrats who opposed Johnson on this are somehow still members of the Democratic Party and that they - and the Klan - Didn't change Parties and Join the Republicans once the law passed just as Nixon's chief strategist argued they would.
“From now on, the Republicans are never going to get more than 10 to 20 percent of the Negro vote and they don’t need any more than that…but Republicans would be shortsighted if they weakened enforcement of the Voting Rights Act. The more Negroes who register as Democrats in the South, the sooner the Negrophobe whites will quit the Democrats and become Republicans. That’s where the votes are. Without that prodding from the blacks, the whites will backslide into their old comfortable arrangement with the local Democrats.”
But they did. And they're still there. Sitting right there listening to Rafael Cruz, being
Deceived and Uninformed by his lies, delusions and distortions.
Sorry Rafael, the "Truth" already set us free - from Conservatives - a long time ago, we (or at least most of us) know better than to get fooled twice.
