Klingenschmitt does it again. Right Wing Watch suspended. Petition signatures needed.

Just yesterday, I posted a diary announcing that Right Wing Watch had successfully had their YouTube account reinstated after Gordon Klingenschmitt complained to YouTube with a bogus claim of copyright violation. Just one day after their reinstatement, Klingenschmitt filed yet another ridiculous claim resulting in YouTube terminating the account once again.

At this point, fault clearly rests with YouTube's policy which allows repeated and abusive claims without merit to harass organizations that have done nothing wrong. Enough is enough. Right Wing Watch is asking that people sign a petition to YouTube, directly appealing to them to tighten their controls over repeat offenders.

YouTube, Legal Division:

Your current copyright takedown policy is too vulnerable to abuse via false complaints.

The YouTube account of Right Wing Watch recently fell victim to one serial abuser's exploitation of your policy, though the videos in question were all protected by the Fair Use doctrine. Please remedy the situation by reinstating Right Wing Watch's video account ASAP and publicly modifying your takedown policy or employing mechanisms to flag serial abusers and prevent this type of abuse and censorship.

Right Wing Watch is simply exercising their rights to free speech and fair use. Please join them by signing their petition requesting YouTube change their suspension and termination policy. As it stands, it currently allows for abusive complaints that subject organizations to unfair and repeated harassment.
