I don't know why I want to keep talking about this. The stray kitty (now named Amber) that my sister and I took in now close to three weeks ago.
Maybe it's because I'm unemployed and so poor and broke that I can't help another human person, much as I would like to. If I ever get a job again............
Hmmm. Anyway. I WAS able to help Amber when I found her starving and fainting out in the street, and now she's in my sister's household (couldn't be in mine. My cat Rosebuddear really HATES other cats)
I went out today to give my sister a ride to work and it's SOOO cold just a few weeks after I found Amber fainting and dying in the street in front of my sister's place.
It is SOOO cold here, although the weather is nice and quiet and not violent as elsewhere.
I kept thinking about if I had NOT found this sweet kitty till now and how she probably would have starved and died outside and then I feel really good. I mean really good.
here is the diary I wrote a few weeks ago after I found her.
http://www.dailykos.com/...
She is now a totally spoiled little princess, but you know, she still doesn't weigh anything. She rushes up to come on my lap whenever I come over and it's like having a bit of marshmallow fluff sit on your lap. My sister gets a bit offended whenever I remark on how she still doesn't weigh anything, like I'm criticizing her care of Amber or something, and I told her, "I know she's been well fed and weighs more. Still 2X0 still = 0."
This is one of the things I will thanking whatever God orders the Universe for the day after tomorrow.
That and the fact that my very good Kos friend Ekaterin has found out that her husband is healthy and will not need surgery after all. We have been in touch and I am so very very happy for her.
The other thing that we have discovered is that Amber is almost totally deaf. She hears REALLY LOUD noises but almost nothing else. I have done a lot of thinking about this since reading the diary on deaf discrimination today. And I did like that diary. Just no guts to go in and comment on it.
I wish you all a most happy Thanksgiving. And so does Amber and Peanut the Destroyer. (Beautiful kitties all).
