Population of NYC: 8,336,697
Bill de Blasio 752,604 73.3%
Joe Lhota 249,121 24.3%
Population of New Jersey: 8,864,590
Chris Christie 1,242,568 60.5%
Barbara Buono 781,710 38.0%
Those vote total's are amazing. The turnout in the city is just horrific compared with those in 2012:
"Nearly two months since Election Day and after the Electoral College met and voted, New York City’s Board of Elections posted official presidential results.
Mr. Obama carried the city with 81 percent of the vote, 1,987,013 to Mitt Romney’s 435,564."
While in New Jersey in 2012:
B. Obama Dem 58.0% 1,960,744
M. Romney GOP 40.9% 1,383,233
I am curious that if turn out in NYC was even 50% of what is was in 2012, whether or not de Blazio would've out performed Obama.
