Meet the Press
At one time, Meet The Press was the must watch sunday morning political programme. Today Meet The Press makes Glenn Beck look like Walter Cronkite.
The narrative from the round table, no not the Knights of the Round Table but characters from the Wizard of Oz, made out that the failure of the healthcare.gov will undermine the whole essence of government for a decade.
David Brooks, who I have little time for, talks about the failure of government to be nimble. We all know that Government is as nimble as William " The Fridge " Perry, but that's not an excuse to bad mouth it. Ironically David Gregory then ran a segment about the Boston Bombings, but forgot to mention that Big Bad Government swung into action to hunt down the people behind it.
Yes the healthcare.gov site has had its problems, but you can't trash the PPACA over the problem of a website. The only sane voice on the round table was the Mayor of Baltimore Stephanie Rawlings Blake, who made one very good point, okay you hate PPACA what are you going to replace it with. From the second her lips stopped, you could see the tumble brush fly past the screen.
Democrats don't have to defend the PPACA because of the website, they are two different issues, the Right are going to have to be honest, and answer how they are going to deal with pre-existing conditions, people being dropped because they got sick and how they are going to stop junk insurance.
