I just saw this headline on MSN, Texas tries again to put drunken teen behind bars.
I cannot write much because I am working on a candle light vigil for the 70 year old woman who I wrote about this Sunday.
But I do have a thought. This could be a bigger deal than people might think. It has been a long time that I last practiced criminal defense, but as memory serves because the little bastard is now on probation, any further charges that he is found guilty of could lead to a prosecutor charging his with a probation violation. Justice still might be served!
UPDATE: Just as an explanation, what this means is that the original sentence that was imposed and deferred because of the probation order could now be enforced.
UPDATE: Has anyone asked why this kid wasn't charged as an adult? Has that even been mentioned. Why the fuck hasn't THAT happened. Hell, Texas would fry a baby if it could, given all the others it has tried to execute. Just asking.
