I normally go out of my way to write about things others who write on "the Kos" don't.
I do have to make an exception today. For many reasons,I come in contact with many adults under 30. Many have Republican parents. Most see the Obamacare sticker on my car and want to engage me in a debate or proudly tell me what they think of our President and his Insurance plan. Many want me to pass on to him where he can stick his plan.
One handsome twentysomething man proudly declared he will carry NO insurance.and I listened and asked what would happen if he fell off his motorcycle? What would happen
Did he need expensive surgery? The young man smiled and said he would get his surgery, all
the medicine he needed. He would only have to pay a $200 fine for not having insurance.
I asked if he had a job,he said he did,I smiled and said bill collectors will come after him for the bill. The collectors will win a judgement against you which stays on your credit for 10 years. His wages could be attached up to a certain percentage of his take home pay. His credit scores will drop because of the judgement.
The tax-payers would have to pay his insurance bills.
I am not sure I got through to him. His father says Obamacare is an attempt for big
Government to stick its nose in peoples private affairs.Does your Dad want you to carry insurance? I asked. "I have to be sure my plan has nothing to do with Obamacare." I was trying not to laugh.
Republicans are doing a good job screwing with their grown childrens health.I again wonder why are parts of our society so selfish when it comes to insurance?
Some MAY pay more. The greater good for all citizens health should matter.
Young people in Country are forced to deal with a tough economy to be sure. They have the luxury of time to get the RIGHT kind of education which will pay them top dollar. All of our young people should lead the way to sign up for Obamcare,
