Who says that the Republicans don't stand for anything? That they are the political party of "no"? Enough of such slander.
The first, and most important freedom, is, as Paul Krugman points out in today's column, is freedom of ignorance. After all, it has long been known that the facts have a liberal bias.
But that is just getting started.
Under the etching of a French pastry below is a full Manifesto of Republican Freedoms.
The Basic Republican Freedoms:
Freedom to ignore the facts, whatever they might be, if they disagree with our cherished beliefs.
Freedom from taxes for people with incomes over $150,000. The rest can pay for corporate welfare and the military.
Freedom to own as many guns as we want and to shoot anybody we don’t like because it should be legal to kill anybody that makes us uncomfortable.
Freedom to dump toxic pollutants or nuclear waste anywhere we want.
Freedom for financial institutions to do what they want in any way they want.
Freedom to destroy the Appalachian forests and streams, Arctic wildlife refuges, Alaskan herring spawning grounds, Midwest water tables, Gulf fisheries, and any other ecosystem as long as it is for a profit.
Freedom to emit as much carbon dioxide into the atmosphere as we want because our freedom from facts means that those emissions have no consequences.
Freedom to exploit employees in any way a company wants because increased corporate profits trump everything else.
Freedom from people dependent on the government to keep from freezing, starving, or dying from untreated illness because those are all the consequence of individual negligence or malingering.
Freedom of religion as long as everybody is a fundamental Christian who doesn’t take seriously the Christian maxims of “love thy neighbor” and "give your wealth to the poor."
Freedom to take all your profits out of the country so that you can buy as many toys as you want without anybody looking.
Freedom from people who don't think like we do.
