We're looking for voluteers to continue this series beginning this Saturday. You don't have to be Jewish to write one, nor a seminary graduate - we're all amateurs, I think. Here's a list of the upcoming weekly Torah and Haftarah readings between now and Passover. Note, there are a number of special Shabbats coming up with second Torah and special Haftarah readings - last Shabbat was the first of the season. I'm also asking for a diaries on Purim and Passover:
Feb. 16; Terumah: Torah reading - Exodus 25:1 to 27:19; Haftarah 1 Kings 5:26 to 6:13 - Ramara
Feb. 23; Shabbat Zachor (Shabbat before Purim) -
Torah Readings: Regular reading Exodus 27:20 to 30:10
2nd special reading for Shabbat Zachor: Deuteromy 25: 17-19.
Special Haftarah: 1 Samuel 15: 1-34. JLan
Purim: night of February 23 and February 24th. Book of Esther.
March 2; Shabbat Parah (Shabbat after Purim) -
Torah Readings: Regular reading Exodus 30:11 to end of chapter 34.
2nd special Torah reading: Numbers 19: 1-22 (purification for Passover in Temple days)
Special Haftarah: Ezekiel 36: 16-38 - Eowyn9
March 9; Shabbat Hachodesh (Shabbat before month of Nisan) -
Torah readings: Regular reading Exodus 35 to end of Exodus.
2nd special Torah reading: Exodus 12: 1-20 (preparation for Passover)
Special Haftarah: Ezekiel 45:18 to 46:15
March 16; Vayikra, Torah reading Leviticus chapters 1 to 5. Haftarah Isaiah 43:21 to 44:23.
March 23: Shabbat HaGadol (Shabbat before Passover) -
Torah Reading: Leviticus chapters 6 to 8. Special Haftarah: Malachi 3:4 to 3:24 (repeating verse 23 at end to end on a happy note.)
(Most of the readings from late Exodus and early Leviticus can be dull, so feel free to discuss the prophetic reading if you wish.)
