In many a comment, I've made the point that the object of the culture of obedience is compliance, usually directed at individuals who are, as Breitbart wailed, to "behave." Thus, it was with some pleasure that I can across the announcement of a Global Compliance Symposium to be held in D.C. about a month from now. Although the invitation on the internet seems open-ended, one suspects that the registration fee of $2395 per person is designed to attract corporate personnel with an expense account.
This fee entitles you to attend all conference sessions, enjoy all food and refreshments, and includes your attendee materials. It does not include travel, accommodation or other costs.
It helps to have friends in the right cities. Wonder if Kossack Alan Grayson has some spare rooms.
But seriously, the agenda is somewhat intriguing.
As an attendee of Dow Jones Global Compliance Symposium, you’ll be joined by government and regulatory officials, FCPA attorneys and consultants, NGOs and nonprofit directors, corporate compliance officers and other top executives.
The Speakers' List looks weighty. Hearing what Alberto Gonzales has to say for himself might be worth the attendance fee alone.
**Jeff Benjamin, General Counsel, Avon Products Inc.
**Alberto Gonzales, Former U.S. Attorney General and Of Counsel, Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis, LLP
**John Hasnas, Director, Georgetown Institute for the Study of Markets and Ethics, Georgetown University
**Ronald Hosko, Assistant Director, Criminal Investigative Division, Federal Bureau of Investigation
**Robert Khuzami, Former Director, Division of Enforcement, United States Securities and Exchange Commission
**Haydee Olinger, Corporate Vice President, Global Compliance Officer, McDonald’s Corporation

Perhaps we should pass the hat and send one of our front pagers. Hunter comes to mind.
Full-time journalists and editorial staff at media outlets can apply for a press pass by completing the form below.
Please note, completing the form does not guarantee a press pass. All applicants will be contacted regarding the status of their submission.
Nor, for that matter, is the form actually "below" on the web site. Perhaps one has to download the brochure.
What are the Benefits of Attending?
You’ll gain essential insight on how to steer companies clear of trouble, especially as the regulatory environment grows more complicated. Participants will receive actionable strategies directly from corporate leaders and government officials dealing with the most critical governance, compliance and ethics issues. Plus, you’ll gain meaningful connections with industry leaders.
To prepare for the symposium, Dow Jones suggests some resources, including
Corruption Currents, one of the Wall Street Journal blogs for
Commentary and news about money laundering, bribery, terrorism finance and sanctions.
Bonus info on hoarding, another topic we've discussed a lot. This little tidbit isn't about corporations sitting on two trillion cash, but
individuals not wanting to give their iphonesup.
