Just when you thought that the Tea Party couldn't get crazier, they're now targeting the golden boy of the Republican Party, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker.
Tea Party Perspective, a conservative political blog, ran this piece labeling Walker as a "Traitor of the TEA Party Movement" because Walker no longer supports repealing 2009 Wisconsin Act 12, a state law that banned smoking in all enclosed workplaces in Wisconsin, including bars and restaurants:
When Scott Walker ran one of the promises that he made was to repeal the smoking ban. Not only did this ban violate the Constitution namely the takings clause of the fifth and 14th amendment. “ nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.”
Mr Walker not only reneged on that promise, it appears that he is expanding the attack on smokers using the exact same methods that Comrade Doyle used to enact the ban. The state budget. First here is Scott in his own words on the smoking ban.
I'll name one potential primary challenger to Scott Walker: Don Pridemore, a Republican state assemblyman who ran for state superintendent earlier this month and lost by over 20 points to incumbent Tony Evers. Walker refused to endorse Pridemore during his state superintendent campaign, which is probably the underlying reason why Tea Party Perspective is now running an anti-Walker hit piece.
Even if Scott Walker faces a Republican primary challenger, Walker has such a strong political machine that he should be able to fend off any primary challenger without too much difficulty.
