Received this e-mail from the League of Conservation Voters in support of Congressman Ed Markey's (D. MA-5) campaign for U.S. Senate in the 2013 Massachusetts Special Election:
There is just one week left until the Massachusetts Special Election primary. The League of Conservation Voters Action Fund is “all in” for Rep. Ed Markey -- a long-time climate ally -- as we help him become the next U.S. Senator from Massachusetts.
The stakes are high. Polls conducted last week show a tightening race with Ed Markey receiving less than 50 percent of the vote and 20 percent of the Massachusetts electorate still undecided on the race.
Ed’s campaign still has tens of thousands of voters to call, doors to knock, and people to get to the polls on Tuesday. That’s why your help today -- right now -- is so critically important.
Here’s the bottom line: Fighting climate change has been the cause of Ed Markey’s life -- that’s why I’m standing with Ed, but I can’t do it alone. I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say that -- if he gets elected -- Ed will be one of the greenest Senators in Washington and a true champion on climate change. That is why LCV Action Fund is 100 percent committed to his race.
In the Senate, Ed will provide visionary leadership that not only attempts to strengthen environmental policy, but also help to grow our economy based on the clean-energy jobs of the future.
Contribute to Ed Markey’s campaign via LCV Action Fund’s GiveGreen. If we can help Ed raise $25,000 more, we can help him win the Special Election primary and put him closer to becoming the next U.S. Senator from Massachusetts:

Ed Markey is one of the strongest champions we have in Washington fighting the climate crisis. He co-authored and introduced the American Clean Energy and Security Act (ACES) in 2009, during which time he chaired the powerful Energy and Environment Subcommittee of the House Energy & Commerce Committee. In addition to leading the fight against climate change, Ed has been a leading voice for holding BP accountable for the Gulf oil spill and for reforming offshore drilling practices.
This race is tightening! Public polls show Ed’s lead narrowing as we get close to next Tuesday’s primary.
If we hope to protect our planet for our children and grandchildren, we need Ed Markey to win the primary. I hope you’ll join me in making sure Ed Markey has the resources his campaign needs to win. Will you chip in with a contribution today?

If you also want to help with voter turnout on April 30th, US Action/True Majority is signing up people to phone bank for Markey:
Boston showed us this past week the best of America, that when tragedy strikes we come together, hurt together, heal together and move forward with unity and purpose.
Community and our faith in the democratic process is what makes America great. As we move forward together, we've got an important opportunity — a critical primary election in Massachusetts to fill Sen. John Kerry's senate seat that is just one week away!
Right now Rep. Ed Markey holds a vulnerable lead over his more conservative opponent that is just too close for comfort
With Election Day a week away, we'll be running phonebanks to remind USAction members to get out the vote so we can elect the true progressive for Massachusetts' senate seat.
Will you join us in making calls on behalf of progressive champion Ed Markey this week?

Ed Markey is a principled progressive who we can count on in the 11th hour. Markey, who describes his vote for the Affordable Care Act as, "the proudest vote of my career," has been a leader on climate change, he's opposed to Keystone XL, and a champion for working families, he will vote against any cuts to Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security.
And just yesterday, the Boston Globe endorsed Markey as the "best choice for Bay State Democrats."
Will you join us in making calls on behalf of progressive champion Ed Markey this week?

Let's make sure we back up Elizabeth Warren by sending the true progressive to serve along side her in the Senate.
Sincerely,
Ross Wallen
