Yes, they are at it again. The Foxorama crew twisting and lying, getting all tangled up in their own smut. Are we surprised? No not really. This time they go a bit deeper. This time they insinuate that President Obama condones the
murders that allegedly took place at the Kermit Gosnell clinic.
I must preface this story by saying I have been pro-choice my entire adult life. No legitimate pro-choice organization would ignore, allow, or condone the kind of crimes that are said to have occurred in the Kermit Gosnell abortion clinic. Kermit Gosnell was the doctor of a 1950s-style abortion mill — the kind of place you’d expect if you lived in a time when abortions were illegal. Gosnell is accused of five murders: drugging a woman to death and killing four babies who were born alive. The trial’s closing arguments are scheduled for Tuesday, April 30. It was said Gosnell even joked when killing one of the babies. That’s the type of abortion doctor you might have gotten before Roe v. Wade, and before safe, affordable and legal medical facilities like Planned Parenthood were around. Stories like Gosnell’s were all too common back then.
Back to Fox News. Most know of their evil and slimy ways. They love to play with facts, then spew hate and lies out to their ignorant Fox believers. Webster Dictionary agrees:
Ignorant: lacking knowledge or awareness in general; uneducated or unsophisticated: (he was told constantly that he was ignorant and stupid).
That definition sufficed. I searched no more.
I came upon a Media Matters video of a Fox News clip. Media Matters’ main goal is to expose the lies that take place in media, and disprove those lies with actual proof. So they keep very busy; of course, they would have many clips of Fox News in their archives. In this video below, Fox is accusing Planned Parenthood of not only knowing about the alleged murders going on in the Kermit Gosnell clinic, but saying, in addition, that Planned Parenthood also chose to ignore the crimes. Fox News goes on to attack President Obama for attending a Planned Parenthood function. Fox brings up the Gosnell murder again, and commentator, Monica Crowley remarks:
“This is a man (Obama) who has consistently supported — this kind of thing (murdering women and babies).”
It’s good that Media Matters chose to pluck out this Fox clip and put it on video for all to see.
Thanks to Media Matters, more Fox lies are put to shame:
Media Matters:
But Fox’s attack on Planned Parenthood is based on a distortion of the actual story. Dayle Steinberg, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood, explained that Planned Parenthood staff was made aware of the clinic’s conditions, but not necessarily the illegal activities that occurred there. When staff members were informed of these conditions, they encouraged patients to report them to the Department of Health.
Media Matters:
Crowley also used the segment to revive a long-debunked smear of Obama: that during his tenure as an Illinois state senator, Obama repeatedly opposed protections for infants who were born alive. Crowley claimed Obama “actively opposed” legislation that would have “protect[ed] infants who were, as in these cases, born alive.” But Obama’s votes against the bill were not because he opposed protecting living infants, but because the law was unnecessary, as Illinois criminal code already prohibited killing living children. Opponents of the bill pointed out that the legislation would not do anything to further protect infants, but could have posed a threat to reproductive rights.
I have to say, I do enjoy Media Matters. They do not fool around. They go after the lowest of media scum bags, and I’m grateful to them. Right now there is not much any of us can do about Fox News, other than boycott, protest, and expose them. Hopefully, they will either change their wicked ways (doubtful), shut down, or shut the fuck up. I choose Door Number Three.
