Monday!
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
If you'd like to be part of the Itzl Alert Network, please leave a comment asking to join, or send us a message asking to join. We'd love to have you. The bigger our network, the less likely someone will be stranded all alone.
This diary is the last one that Noddy had in the queue. I was quite surprised to discover that I, and six others, had been promoted to BlogAdmin. Working together, ably (and alliteratively) aided and assisted by FloridaSNMom, we decided to continue the group. And also, that there would be no cow pies in the garden of Ian.
I'd like to welcome new members carolanne and translatorpro to the group, and introduce the new regularly-scheduled writers:
Monday: BadKitties
Tuesday: jan4insight
Wednesday: Caedy
Thursday: weck
Friday: FloridaSNMOM
Saturday:broths
Sunday: loggersbrat
We also welcome submissions from anyone who would like to jump in, whether as a fill-
in for someone else, or just because you feel like writing. Please mention it in the thread, or Kosmail FloridaSNMOM. Anyone scheduled who would like someone to fill in for you, please do the same.
It was a real demonstration of community on Sunday's IAN thread. I, for one, am very happy to be a part of such a civilized group. Without further ado, the original diary:
Today is an extended weekend, which means no clients, but we still are supposed to be working to catch up on things. However, a great many people take a furlough day on these extended weekends or vacation if they have it, so the place will be resoundingly empty.
