I want to throw things at the computer. I won't because I like my old Mac. But I need to express my anger, frustration, and sadness about Michele Bachmann not running in 2014. For the DFL party in Minnesota, 2014 was our best possible chance to beat Michele Bachmann. This sucks.
Crazy Eyes Bachmann.
Bachmann did not pay campaign staff for a month. Still won't pay staff
Bachmann is being investigated for her short-lived presidential campaign last year over claims that she misused funds. Woohoo! An ethics investigation. This is good new for the DFL canidate Jim Graves.
The FBI joined the investigation. Again, Woo fucking hoo! FBI Investigation
Then, Bachmann says she won't run in 2014 with a really strange video. My first reaction was joy! I nudged my husband who was still sleeping "Bachmann is out of the race." He is a die-hard liberal but I guess sleep trumps politics at 6am.
Then, I listened to MPR on my way to work. Jim Graves, the DFL candidate against Bachmann, is on the radio saying he is surprised Bachmann is not running. He says it won't change his campaign at all. I nod my head. Good. He is a strong candidate.
On my way home from work, I hear a Republican leader discussing how the 6th Congressional District is very conservative. Duh. Really. Hadn't noticed.
But he has a point. It will be so much harder for Graves to win now that Bachmann isn't running.
Then Jim Graves quits Jim Graves pulls out of the 6th district race.
Of course, he is quitting. It is really the smart choice for him personally. Graves stood a great chance to win against Bachmann. He came with in 5000 votes in the last election. Her corruptness and craziness is spilling all over the place. Bachmann running against Graves in 2014 was the DFL's best-case scenario.
Bachman screwed us over again by not running in 2014.
Deep breaths. At least, I am represented by Keith Ellison.
