Yes, this would be the same John Cornyn who proudly serves with
not-quite-teetotaling Idaho Sen. Mel Crapo ... and who was one of just 22 senators to proudly
vote against the Violence Against Women Act. And the only thing more ridiculous than for John Cornyn to pretend he cares about domestic violence after his vote against VAWA is the notion that the spouses and partners who are victims of domestic violence would be better off remaining in the shadows, without the protection of the legal system and legal status.
