Kudos to the Equadorian Government for standing up for your sovereignty, not to mention a truly brilliant press coup. To Equadorian taxpayers, I have the good news that your generous charitable offer is unlikely to be accepted. To Equadorian laborers who may lose their jobs and Equadorian companies that may lose business, I hope you are successful at finding alternative markets in countries run by grownups.
To Americans who buy cut broccoli, shrimp, cut flowers, and many other goods, the bad news is that our prices are going up. Equador's response to our threats to cancel our trade pact with them over the Snowden issue was to cancel the pact pre-emptively.
